Purchased by Hillsborough County as conservation land in a rapidly developing area, Pebble Park protects more than 25 acres of land near the mouth of the Alafia River south of Tampa.
Accessibility is key, as the property is served by a network of paved footpaths and a sidewalk, with plans to extend a walkway down to the river.

It is a refuge for native animals. Kingfishers, egrets and herons inhabit a small pond and pristine shores. Gopher tortoises dig burrows in a large sunny area of the former Sandhill habitat.
A variety of native trees, flowers and grasses have been planted throughout the park. A future ecological restoration is planned.

Developed as a welcoming space within a natural setting, a short path leads into the center of the property, showcasing the landscape and offering a variety of parking spaces.
Three ADA accessible pavilions are located within walking distance of the restrooms, next to an information kiosk.

A wide concrete sidewalk connects the parking area to a paved loop on the south end and to the entrance on the north side, leading to adjacent neighborhoods.
The paved loop is just over 0.3 miles long. It meanders around a grassy field dotted with young palms, cypresses, and red maples.

Red llamas lead along a dirt road under a dense hardwood canopy in the northwestern corner of the park.
The red trail is 0.4 miles long and plunges nature enthusiasts into a jungle of oak, cabbage, pine, saw palmetto, and beautiful berries.

Almost tucked away along the southern end of the red trail is a butterfly-shaped garden of native plants.
This garden was built using bricks that were discovered under the road at the entrance to the park while a new roundabout was being built.
Featuring firebush, beach sunflower, and porterweed, among others, this arrangement attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators to the park.
